ready for distribution! Every member of the Cheektowaga Chamber
of Commerce and every household in Cheektowaga will receive a 2014-2015

distribution of more than 30,000! Special thanks to all our

possible! We encourage you to use your 2014-2015
Membership Directory and Business Resource Guide as your go-to for
any product or service you may need! Doing business with Chamber
Members is good business! Support your community and shop local!
set our clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 2 as Daylight
Saving Time ends. This is also a great time to remember to
change the batteries in your smoke detectors and to make sure your
carbon monoxide detector is working correctly. These two little
steps can make the difference in the event of an emergency.
Thursday, November 13 the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce
is partnering with the Erie County Clerk’s Office to host a Thank
A Vet Discount Program Outreach. Honorable discharged veterans
from any branch of service of the United States Armed Forces can stop
in at the AppleTree Business Park, 2875 Union Road, Main Entrance from
11:00 am to 1:30 pm and have a Thank A Vet Discount Card issued.
Veterans must bring their original discharge papers. For
more information about the Thank A Vet Discount Program, contact the
Erie County Clerk’s Office at 858-6985.

Luncheon, which will be held at 12 noon at the Holiday Inn Buffalo
Airport, 4600 Genesee Street. Our guest speaker will be Ted
Black, President, Buffalo Sabres. Please call the Chamber Office
at 684-5838 by Friday, November 7 to make your reservations
enrollment time is upon us! Our Open Enrollment Meeting
will be held on Wednesday, November 19 at 5:30 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Cheektowaga Senior Center, 3349
Broadway. Representatives from Independent Health, Univera
Healthcare and Community Blue will be at the meeting to discuss the
changes for our health insurance plans for 2015.
Representatives from Northwest Savings Bank and Lake Shore Savings
Bank will also be there to discuss Health Savings Accounts. This is
a must attend meeting for all employers and employees who have or are
interested in insurance coverage through the Cheektowaga Chamber of
Commerce. Open Enrollment will be effective January
1, 2015 and any changes to your current health insurance coverage must
be submitted to our office by Friday, December 12, 2014.

2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to
encourage people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after
Thanksgiving. The single day has grown into a powerful movement and
more people are taking part than ever before. This year Small
Business Saturday is Saturday, November 29. We
encourage everyone to support our local businesses and shop local!
we prepare for the holiday season, we ask that you consider a
sponsorship for the Spirit of Sharing Dinner, which will be
held on Tuesday, December 2 at the Cheektowaga Senior Center.
The Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce and the Intercouncil of
Organizations cosponsor this dinner for the residents of our local
skilled facilities. It is a holiday event for some very special
people and you can help brighten the spirit of our guests with just a $22
sponsorship. A $22 sponsorship enables us to treat one
resident to an evening of great food, entertainment, favors and even a
visit from Santa Claus! Sponsorship forms are included in your
November Newsletter or at the Chamber Office. We are also looking
for donations for gift bags for our guests. Please contact
the Chamber Office if you are able to provide items (50 minimum) for

help make the holidays a little brighter for some very special people.
