Liegl President / CEO  The mission of the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce is to assist, support and promote business in the Cheektowaga community through economic, educational and legislative programs and in doing so strengthen the Cheektowaga community.   A Message from the President…   On January 10 the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce hosted its Job Fair 2012.  The event was held at Walden Galleria and over 30 employers and hundreds of potential employees participated in the event.  Potential employees found job opportunities with a variety of companies and employers found good, qualified candidates to fill these jobs!  Our thanks to our Event Sponsor: Walden Galleria and our Corporate Sponsors: Northwest Savings Bank, Rural Metro Medical Services and WNYJobs.com as well as all the employers who participated in this event!    Join us on Friday, February 3 for our Legislative Round Table and Breakfast Meeting, which will be held from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at the Millennium Hotel Buffalo, 2040 Walden Avenue.  Invited to attend this event are Special Field Representative Bonnie Kane-Lockwood representing Congressman Brian Higgins, NYS Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak, NYS Senator Tim Kennedy, Town Supervisor Mary Holtz and Erie County Legislator Tom Mazur.  The cost to attend the breakfast is $15.  Call the Chamber Office at 684-5838 by Friday, January 27 to make your reservation for this legislative event.  Our thanks to M&T Bank, Rural/Metro Medical Services, Central Business Systems, the Cheektowaga Economic Development Corporation and Sisters of Charity Hospital, St Joseph Campus for sponsoring this important event for our members!   We invite you to join us on Thursday, February 16 for our February Membership Luncheon.  The luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn Buffalo Airport, 4600 Genesee Street.  Our guest speaker will be Erie County Medical Center CEO Jody Lomeo. RSVP for this luncheon by calling the Chamber Office at 684-5838 by February 10.  Our thanks Bath Fitter for their sponsorship of this luncheon!   The Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present our 3rd Annual “Celebrate Spring…Celebrate You…A Women’s Event” on Sunday, April 29.  Last year’s event was a great success with more than 40 exhibitors showcasing their products and services to the more than 250 women who attended the event.  This year’s event will be held at the Millennium Hotel Buffalo from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and will feature you – our business members – as you promote your company’s products and services to women from all over Western New York.  (Did you know that women make more than 80% of consumer buying decisions?)
