A Message from the President…

On January 13 the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce hosted its Job Fair 2015.  The event was held at Walden Galleria and over 30 employers and hundreds of potential employees who participated in the event.  Potential employees found job opportunities with a variety of companies and employers found good, qualified candidates to fill these jobs!  Our thanks to our Event Sponsor: Walden Galleria and our Corporate Sponsors: People Inc. and WNYJobs.com as well as all the employers who participated in this event!

The Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with Microsoft to provide cutting edge training to our members.  Our first training seminar for 2015 - Windows 8.1 and OneNote - will be on Wednesday, February 4.  Learn about Windows 8.1, including live tiles, search options, customization, ease of use and more. We’ll then cover a beginner course on OneNote, a virtual notebook to store and share all information. A great asset for businesses, OneNote streamlines information sharing and consolidates photos, videos, documents and text into a single location. The seminar is limited to 20 attendees so make your reservation early!  Call the Chamber Office at 684-5838 to make your reservation!

Join us on Friday, February 6 for our Legislative Round Table and Breakfast Meeting, which will be held from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at the Creekside Banquet Facility, 2669 Union Road.  Invited to attend this event are NYS Senator Tim Kennedy, NYS Assemblywoman Angela Wozniak, Town Supervisor Mary Holtz, Erie County Legislator Patrick Burke and Erie County Legislator Ted Morton.  The cost to attend the breakfast is $15.  Call the Chamber Office at 684-5838 by Friday, January 30 to make your reservation for this legislative event.  Our thanks to M&T Bank, Time Warner Cable, Rural/Metro Medical Services, the Cheektowaga Economic Development Corporation, Northwest Savings Bank and Sisters Hospital, St Joseph Campus for sponsoring this important event for our members!

The Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce is also partnering with the Small Business Administration to bring a series of educational seminars to our members.  On Wednesday, February 18, we will host our first educational seminar for 2015:  Small Business Clean Up.  No matter how small or large, working to boost your business and brand can go a long way.  It’s the time of year to fertilize and prune to spur new growth -- business growth.  Join us as we share ideas on how to sharpen your business ideas, how to organize your business and new ways to market your business. The seminar will be held at SUNY Empire State College, AppleTree Business Park, Suite 34. The seminar will begin at 8:45 am with Registration and Networking followed by the seminar from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.   Call the Chamber Office at 684-5838 to make your reservation.

On Thursday, February 26, the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce will host Cheektowaga CSI: Chamber Social and Informational Meeting at the Cheektowaga Residence Inn, 107 Anderson Road from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.  Please join us if you are new to the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce or if you have been a member and would like to know more about all the benefits and opportunities you have with your membership!  Call the Chamber Office at 685-5838 to make your reservation!  All attendees will get a free gift and will be in for a prize drawing!

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank you for your continued support.  God bless.
